Every year, the cipdh-unesco facilitates a simulation exercise of thematic hearings before the inter-american commission of human rights (IACHR-OAS), where the operating mechanisms of the sessions are recreated.

With the aim of promoting awareness and knowledge of regional systems for the protection of human rights, the CIPDH-UNESCO organizes a simulation competition on thematic hearings before the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights (IACHR-OAS). The competition is intended for interdisciplinary teams of undergraduate students who simulate sessions on specific topics. Teams are expected to focus on the investigation of issues related to human rights that affect the American region, representing the roles of complainants or victims (representatives of the civil society) and the counterpart of the State.

This event is co-organized with the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights.

2019 EDITION

The 2019 competition will take place on September 5th and 6th in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The topic will be “Violence and Discrimination against LGTBI People”.
