WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION INAUGURAL MISSION, THE FIRST EDITION OF THE “SUMMER UNIVERSITY ON HUMAN RIGHTS” TOOK PLACE.
Organized jointly by the Haitian Institute of Human Rights (IHDH) and the CIPDH-UNESCO, the meeting took place from 6 to 10 August in the city of Port-au-Prince, where Haitian and Argentine teachers gave lectures on the promotion and training on human rights. The intention of the organizers will be to hold a new edition of the event every year with the participation of experts in the field.
Among the themes discussed by speakers were diversity and non-discrimination, social and economic rights, the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations SDGs, the essential link between cultural heritage and human rights, the growing inequality of urban environments and the challenges faced by international human mobility.
The visit is part of the “Institutional Strengthening of the IHDH”, a cooperation initiative developed by the CIPDH-UNESCO, supported by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Argentine Fund for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (FO.AR). This inter-institutional articulation is aimed at international technical cooperation, through which experts from each country work together to exchange experiences and practices for inclusive developments, democratic governance and the respect for human rights.
