THE PROJECT SEEKS TO WORK TOGETHER WITH THE HAITIAN INSTITUTE OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN ITS STRENGTHENING AND IMPACT ON HUMAN RIGHTS IN HAITI

The cooperation project with the Haitian Institute of Human Rights (IHDH) is carried out through the Argentine Fund for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (FO.AR) of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is aimed at strengthening the institutionality of human rights in Haiti.

The Haitian Institute of Human Rights is a non-profit civil society association created in 2014, which has a strong relationship with Argentina. Its work is supplementary to that of other national bodies for the protection of human rights, with a prominently academic profile.

The planned actions for the project include the academic support for the completion of the IHDH Summer School, as well as other training and education actions for Haitian students and professionals. The CIPDH-UNESCO also participates in the institute’s distance learning tutoring program, which helps Social Sciences and Law students write their theses with the help of Argentine tutors specialized in human rights. This results in a direct impact given that tutoring programs in Haiti are paid, which prevents many students from completing their courses of study.
