Professor Rodrigo Uprimny Yepes’ Keynote Speech “Development and Human Rights: Tensions and complementarities” will take place on Monday, September 23 at 6 p.m. in the Palermo University Auditorium (Mario Bravo 1050), Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. This event is open to the public and requieres registration.

Rodrigo Uprimny Reyes
Lawyer with a Master’s Degree (DEA) in Sociology of Development by the Paris I University (IEDES) and a PhD in Economy by the Amiens University. Professor emeritus at Colombia’s National University and visiting professor on several universities. He was auxiliary magistrate and head of Colombia’s Constitutional Court and is co-judge at that Court and the State’s Council. Former member of the International Comission of Jurists and the UN CESCR’s Committee (2015-2018). He is currently a columnist at El Espectador.
He directed the center for legal and social studies Dejusticia and is currently its drug Policy Director. His main areas of interest are the economic, social and cultural rights (CESCR), transitional justice, judicial system and drug policy, subjects about which he has published several articles and books as author or co-author.
