AS A RESULT OF THE JOINT WORK OF THE CIPDH-UNESCO AND MEMORIA ABIERTA, “THE NUNCA MÁS REPORT: THE POWER OF AN ARCHIVE” IS A TRAVELING EXHIBITION OF THE WORK CONDUCTED BY THE CONADEP BEFORE WRITING THE LEGENDARY REPORT, WHICH IS THE RESULT OF THE RESEARCH WORK IN THEIR ARCHIVE.

Curated by Luciana Delfabro, the exhibition gathers a collection of records, letters, lists, questionnaires, declarations and resolutions, some of the materials that make up the lesser-known part of the documentary collection used for the writing of the Nunca Más Report. This archive constitutes an emblematic legacy that supported, and still supports, national and international judicial investigations. Since 2007, it has been part of UNESCO’s Memory of the World.

The exhibition was conceived as a traveling exhibition through different points of Argentina’s territory, with the purpose of offering a space to learn and reflect upon one of the most important processes in the country’s recent history –the democratic transition–, and to offer, to the new generations in particular, the possibility of reflecting about democracy and the respect for human rights.

The exhibition was held for the first time on March 14th, 2018, at Centro Cultural Haroldo Conti –within the framework of the “International Conference on Archives and Human Rights, an agenda to strengthen democracy”– and a year later at Centro Histórico Cultural, Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS) in Bahía Blanca; the next venue will be announced soon.
